Help
Designing, ordering and receiving your map — the questions I get, answered.
How do I choose the area that prints?
Search any place, then drag the map until your spot sits where you want it. The square frame on the map is exactly what prints. Pick how many miles it covers with the presets — ½ mile shows a few blocks building by building, 1 mile (the default) is the sweet spot for a home and its neighbourhood, and 3 miles takes in a whole downtown or a campus.
What sizes and prices are there?
One size for now: 8″ square, bare or in a wood or black frame. Larger sizes are coming once I can print them without slowing everyone else’s order.
How many colours does a map use?
Four filaments per map — one each for terrain, greenery, water and structures (buildings and roads share one). Choose between Classic and White: the same four solids, in different filament.
Can I add a frame?
Yes — a wood or black frame is more, hand-assembled around the map before it ships. Or take the bare print; the map is 8″ square either way.
Can I see it before I order?
The designer shows a live 3D preview as you move the frame and change colours — drag it to rotate (on a phone, hold, then drag to tilt). On iPhone, “View in your room” puts the map on your own shelf or wall at true size before you commit.
Will the print match the preview?
Yes. Your design and the map-data version are frozen the moment you pay, and that exact file is what prints. The one thing the preview cannot show is a 3D print’s fine surface texture and layer lines — the photos on the design page show how the real thing reads.
How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?
I print your map in business days. Then USPS Priority takes 2–5 business days. US addresses only for now.
How do I track my order?
Your confirmation email has a link to your order page; the shipped email adds the tracking number. The page reads Received · Printing · Shipped with dates.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If it hasn’t started printing, yes — reply to your confirmation email or write to [email protected] and I can move the frame, change colours or the frame, or cancel for a full refund. Once printing begins the map is custom-made and covered by the returns policy.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email a photo within 14 days of delivery and I reprint it or refund you in full — your choice. Refunds land in 5–10 business days.
I have a design code — what do I do with it?
Open /d/ followed by your code (the link is in your address bar when you save) to see the design and continue to checkout, or “Resume editing” to change it. Unsaved designs keep for 90 days; a design that has been ordered is kept forever.
